Cesc Fàbregas has warned Como about Barcelona before their Champions League meeting, calling Hansi Flick’s side “frightening”. Goal Nigeria reports that the Como manager praised Barcelona’s ability to find solutions during matches.

Barcelona will host Como on January 27, 2027, in the final round of the Champions League league phase. UEFA’s fixture list schedules the match for 9pm CET at the Camp Nou.

Fàbregas explained his assessment in comments reported by Fabrizio Romano: “Barcelona is frightening! They are scary, man. They always find solutions. Barcelona makes you look bad because they are able to find solutions in every moment. No matter which player steps up, the level remains very high.”

Barcelona opened their European campaign with a 5-1 victory over Feyenoord on September 9. The result gave Flick’s team five goals in its first Champions League match.

Como followed with a 4-1 victory over RB Leipzig on September 10. Reuters reported that Martin Baturina, Tasos Douvikas, Assane Diao and Máximo Perrone scored for Fàbregas’ team.

The result gave Como three points in their first Champions League campaign after the club finished fourth in Serie A last season. UEFA lists the Italian side among the competition’s debutants.

Fàbregas will face his former club after making 151 appearances for Barcelona between 2011 and 2014. He scored 42 goals during his spell at the Catalan club.

Before joining Barcelona’s first team, Fàbregas came through the club’s youth system and moved to Arsenal as a teenager. He later joined Chelsea in 2014 after leaving Barcelona.

Fàbregas took charge of Como after working within the club’s coaching structure. He guided the Italian side into Serie A before leading them into the Champions League.

The January fixture will bring Fàbregas back to Barcelona as a visiting manager. Como will face Barcelona at the Camp Nou on January 27, 2027.
