Erling Haaland has received four Guinness World Records certificates for his achievements with Manchester City and Norway. Guinness World Records presented the certificates to the Manchester City striker at the Etihad Stadium on 13 August 2026.
Fastest 100 Premier League Goals
Haaland holds the record for the fastest player to score 100 goals in the Premier League.
He reached 100 goals in 111 matches after scoring against Fulham on 2 December 2025. He scored the milestone goal from the penalty spot during Manchester City’s 5–4 win at Craven Cottage.
Before Haaland, Alan Shearer held the record after reaching 100 Premier League goals in 124 matches. Haaland beat that mark by 13 matches.
Most Goals in a 38-Game Premier League Season
Haaland scored 36 goals in the 2022/23 Premier League season, setting the record for the most goals by a player in a 38-game Premier League season.
He joined Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund before the 2022/23 campaign and scored 36 goals in 35 league appearances.
His 36 goals surpassed Mohamed Salah’s previous record of 32 goals in the 2017/18 season. Andy Cole and Alan Shearer had each scored 34 goals in earlier Premier League seasons, when clubs played 42 matches.
Most UEFA Nations League Goals
Haaland also holds the record for the most UEFA Nations League goals by a player.
The Norway striker has scored 19 goals in the competition between 4 September 2020 and 17 November 2024.
He scored his first Nations League goal against Austria in September 2020 before adding further goals during Norway’s campaigns in the competition.
Five Goals in One Champions League Match
Haaland shares the record for the most goals scored by a player in a single UEFA Champions League match.
He scored five goals against RB Leipzig on 14 March 2023 as Manchester City won 7–0 at the Etihad Stadium. He scored all five goals in 57 minutes before manager Pep Guardiola substituted him.
Lionel Messi had scored five goals for Barcelona against Bayer Leverkusen in 2012. Luiz Adriano matched the feat for Shakhtar Donetsk against BATE Borisov in 2014. Haaland became the third player to score five goals in one Champions League match.
Haaland’s Four Guinness World Records
Guinness World Records presented Haaland with four certificates at the Etihad Stadium in August 2026.
The certificates recognise his 111-match Premier League century, 36-goal Premier League season, 19 UEFA Nations League goals and five-goal Champions League match.
Guinness World Records described Haaland as a “multiple record holder” during the certificate presentation.
